Kick off your autumn season the North Carolina way and take a trip to the State Fair! Located just out of downtown on Blue Ridge Road, the N.C. State Fair is a fan favorite in the state, with your typical fare of fried foods, exciting rides, thrilling games, and tons of educational agricultural exhibits. This year, the State Fair will take place from October 14th to the 24th, so there is plenty of time to take in the festivities
Pick pumpkins and enjoy a hay ride at Page Farms
Now that you've kickstarted your Fall the right way at the State Fair, it's time to hunker down and carve some pumpkins! Raleigh is near (and host to) several pick-your-own pumpkin patches that often include kid and family-friendly activities. Get active at the NCMA Park
A staple of Autumnal vibes, the North Carolina Museum of Art's park is perfect for a long walk at dusk. The park is free and open daily and features breahtaking art and sculptures along the paths. Enjoy unpaved and paved tracks for walking and biking through the fallen leaves. It is a beautiful place to take your dog and the whole family!

Cheer loud and proud for the Carolina Hurricanes
If you've never been to a Canes game, you aren't a true North Carolinian yet. Fall and Winter are the seasons for hockey, and us Raleighites are huge Canes fans. Get season tickets or visit a few games to really nail the ultimate Autumn vibe.
Try tasty sips and eats at Bittersweet
If you prefer to skip the chilly weather outdoors to cozy up inside, we've got your number. Set your sights on the cocktail and dessert bar, Bittersweet, in Downtown Raleigh. Featuring a revolving menu of seasonal desserts and staple favorites, this gin joint (lots of gin!) is one of the most happening places in town in the Fall. Take a date here, meet some new people up at the bar, and split a couple of delicious desserts.
Take a Raleigh museum tour!
Rainy Autumn weekends call for indoor explorations. Raleigh is home to many state museums. Visit the Bicentennial Plaza in Downtown to hit up both the Natural Science and History museums before exploring the Capitol building just down the block. It's a favorite location of ours because it's nearby Revisn and a few great restaurants. Start your day at the Science Museum and visit the Butterfly Room, where the resident two-toed sloth lives! After, head over to the Museum of History just across the plaza, where you can learn all about our state's history.

Think you've exhausted all the things Autumn has to offer in Raleigh? Take a trip just outside of our city to Durham's Hux Family Farms. Every weekend, the farm hosts Therapeutic Goat Yoga, where participants take part in a guided yoga session outdoors with the resident goats! A popular trend across the country, goat yoga at Hux Family Farms should be at the top of your Autumn bucket list! Just make sure to send us photos of you and your new goat pal channeling your inner yogi.
Visit the creepy, life-like Myers Home in Hillsborough, NC
Horror movie fans rejoice, because Central NC is home to a real-life recreation of the famous Myers house from the Halloween franchise, a classic slasher flick! Owner Kenny Caperton built the replica house in 2009, and allows indoor and outdoor tours throughout the Autumn holidays. Take a trip out to Hillsborough this fall to tour the home and enjoy some of the other fun fall festivities Caperton plans!
